The Onyx Lord of Elden Ring is an optional boss shrouded in mystery and darkness, a being of immense power and malignant nature who wield curved Greatswords. His very presence sends chills down the spines of even the bravest warriors, and his dominion over the Elden Ring is absolute. With mystery over gravity magic, they are a tall ancient race of humanoids who have proven to be a formidable adversary.
The Lesser Alabaster Lord is the standard enemy form of this boss, which in contrast to Onyx Lord, wield a long Greatsword.
Where is the Onyx Lord Located
You can encounter Onyx Lord on the following two sites:
Royal Grave Evergaol
Royal Grave Evergaol is located in the Liurnia of the Lakes, with the closest site of grace behind Caria Manor. This area is only accessible once you complete the manor and defeat Royal Knight Loretta. To get there, you must exit Caria Manor estate through the backdoor towards the estate walls and then head east. You do not need a Stonesword key to enter, as the portal mechanism is already active. Once you go through the portal, you can encounter the Onyx Lord.
Sealed Tunnel
The Sealed Tunnel Dungeon is found in the Capital Outskirts on the Altus Plateau, located south of the lake beside Leyndell Royal Capital gate. This dungeon has a series of imaginary walls that need to be attacked or rolled into to go toward the Divine Tower of West Altus. Progressing toward the bottom of the dungeon will get you to the arena for a boss fight.

Onyx Lord Attacks and Counters
The boss has a limited range of attacks, as discussed below, with how to counter those moves.
Meteorite
The lord plunges his sword into the ground, which sends shockwaves in a small radius that can inflict massive damage. Then a black hole appears, which throws out meteorites that explode on the impact and have a burning effect for a few seconds. You can dodge them by getting behind the boss or maintaining distance from the boss, increasing your escape period.
Gravity Well
The boss creates an orb to shoot at his target in his left hand. To escape this, the player must be precise while dodging it, as they have a very impressive sense of tracking. You can dodge to the sides or through the orb.
Slice and Dice
The boss performs a quick dash towards his left while he slashes upward, followed by a downward slash in the opposite direction as he shifts his sides. This particular attack requires thrift movement towards the right as he attacks. This will get you behind the boss opening a gate for the counter. The ranged users must dodge to the front right diagonally as soon as the boss performs the second slash.
Strategy To Defeat Onyx Lord Easily
For Melee Users
Onyx Lord has a minimal range of attack which helps you detect his fight pattern with much more ease. The players must consider challenging the boss on the outer edges of the arena. This will prove to be a successful technique when the boss shoots meteorites, as the middle part of the arena holds an uneven terrain which causes the meteorites to diminish by coming in contact with the ground.
The boss rarely shifts from his usual attack pattern, so you can exploit him by getting behind him to attack after he thrusts his sword to the ground before shooting the meteor.
Although the boss is a very straightforward adversary, his Gravity Orb attacks are difficult to dodge as they have excellent tracking and a short period to escape.
For the final type of attack, his slice and dice move starts with a diagonal dash followed by a significant slash in the opposite direction. But if you dodge to the right from his first attack, you will be positioned behind him and have a chance to counter him from behind. The meteorites and Slice and Dice moves are vulnerable to the boss when Melee players stand against him.
For Magic and Ranged Users
Magic and Ranged users can use summons to tackle this boss. The summons will stagger the boss, and you can exploit his vulnerability. His meteorites are slow and can be easily dodged. The ranged users are at an advantage since they are out of the range of the first slash of the boss’s slice and dice, but you need to counter his second slash with much more care.
