A recently surfaced online leak on 4Channel’s message board has stirred rumors online that various Atlus games will be featured for Xbox Game Pass. These games could feature the four major titles from the famous Shin Megami Tensei series, which will soon port to Xbox Game Pass-supported platforms.
Rumors began to speculate on Reddit when an artwork that seemed more like a picture taken from a phone camera surfaced online on the 4 Channel’s message board. According to the artwork, the titles coming to Xbox Game Pass include Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse, Shin Megami Tensei V, Shin Megami Tensei III Nocturne HD Remaster, and Shin Megami Tensei IV. In addition to that, these famous Atlus games will soon be ported to Nintendo Switch and Steam for systems running Windows 10 and 11.
The famous Shin Megami Tensei series has held historical recognition in gaming history since 1992. Therefore, it is also known as the Atlus group’s flagship franchise for its fame. The game series was popular for its turn-based style gameplay, which added a touch of brutal difficulty and bleak apocalyptic settings. The game seems more focused on themes of remaking a world that is entirely based on the player’s actions and morality.
These mere rumors speculated by the artwork can be more like a confirmed release pattern if we look at the events on the 25th anniversary of the Persona series. Back then, Atlus revealed a range of Persona expansions for all current-gen consoles and platforms, including the Game Pass. On the basis of this reveal pattern, we can expect an official reveal announcement from game developers on the franchise’s 30th anniversary, which will be held on May 6, 2023. These games could be a great addition to the Xbox platforms, allowing modern-day gamers to experience the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series.
