Visual Concepts and 2K Games have revealed the latest iteration of the basketball sim NBA 2K24. Although the developers faced criticism over the repetitive gameplay features in recent NBA 2K titles, NBA 2K24 appears to address the longstanding fan feedback with the introduction of Crossplay.
The developers revealed that NBA 2K24 would feature Crossplay for the first time in the history of the franchise, and it was further revealed that the feature would work for all modes without any restrictions. However, crossplay is supported on particular systems only.
Crossplay will only work between PlayStation and Xbox; the Nintendo Switch and PC users will be left out in the cold. It should also be noted that the cross-play functionality will only function between the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in particular. The PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC will not have the liberty of cross-play as they all use the same version of the game.
Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts, said that the company has actively listened to the community’s feedback, and as a result, the crossplay functionality was rolled out. He said:
While we mark the history of the franchise, NBA 2K24 also looks ahead to the future to bring an innovative leap in technology and the introduction of community-requested features like crossplay.
