Immortals of Aveum is a single-player first-person magic shooter that follows Jak, who discovers he possesses certain powers and embarks on a quest to join the Order of the Immortals in order to save a world on the verge of an apocalypse.
Immortals of Aveum was first teased at the Game Awards 2022, and it finally received an official teaser trailer last week. Ascendent Studios appears to be on a roll, as they have just released gameplay footage of Immortals of Aveum to entice the gaming community even further.
The released gameplay is about six minutes long and action-packed, showcasing Jak as he switches between different magic types to perform a number of powerful furies and lashes at the enemies to get the upper hand.
The gameplay goes over the fully fleshed-out magical combat system of the game that provides players access to several elemental spells that can come in handy for both defense and offense. The footage also showcases skill shots and targeted abilities that can be quite useful, be it erecting barriers to block attacks or causing havoc on the battlefield with magical grenades. Furthermore, a sneak peek into the grenades and AoE explosions was there alongside the quick repositioning to vantage points using magical tethers.
In addition, the trailer hinted at the extensive arsenal of weapons available in Immortals of Aveum. It exhibited a broad range of weapons and equipment, including Bracers, Sigils, Totems, and Rings. Moreover, a bit of puzzle-solving was also teased, as it is one of the game’s core mechanics.
Immortals of Aveum will be launching later this year on July 20 and will be available across all platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. It is available for pre-order at a retail price of $59.99 for the Standard Edition and $69.99 for the Deluxe Edition, which will include the Ancient Relics of Aveum Pack out of the box.
