A week ago, Ubisoft announced that their free-to-play long-running fighting game, Brawlhalla, was getting a crossover event with the animated show Avatar: The Last Airbender. The update arrived today and features three new characters from the show that gamers can play as. We also got the announcement that we’d be getting a new weapon called Battle Boots next month.
We’ll receive three characters, Aang, Toph, and Zuko, all major characters from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Aang will be able to use the Gauntlets and Spear weapons and will be to enter the signature “Avatar State” during his ultimate move. The next character is Toph, the blind Earthbender. Her primary weapons will consist of Gauntlets and Hammer in the game. Lastly, we have Zuko, one of the show’s main antagonists. He’ll be able to use the Sword and Spear weapons, and during his ultimate attack, he’ll transform into the Blue Spirit.
Other additions in the new update include a new map based on the animated show. Alongside this, players can now use a brand new emote that features the animal “Momo”; they’ll also gain access to an “Appa” sidekick. Gamers who log in during the event will receive “The Tale of Iroh” avatar for free. We’ll also receive a new Western Air Temple-themed FFA and 1v1 maps, alongside a new splash art and UI theme based on the show. Other changes affecting the UI elements of the game include a new main menu, a new character select screen, and different victory theme music. Lastly, players who log in daily during this event will receive a bonus of 250 gold.
Brawlhalla is a free-to-play game, and players can play as several free characters on rotation every week. However, if you plan on getting those characters permanently, you’ll need to purchase them using in-game currency called Coins. Players can also use real money to purchase Mammoth Coins to buy crossover characters and various cosmetics.
