Since the release of Gran Turismo 7 earlier this year, Sony has ported Sackboy, Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection, Spider-Man, and its sequel Miles Morales to PC leaving many fans wondering when the racing game will be next. Although now it looks like it might be coming to PC soon.
Gran Turismo is one of the most popular racing titles in the world, reaching the same level of fame as Need For Speed, which had gameplay footage leaked. The latest entry in the acclaimed racing series has been out for PS4 and PS5 for eight months. The development team has been working on fixing bugs and several performance issues, such as stuttering, freezing, and lag during gameplay, in addition to a lot of post-launch support to improve the experience for players. So it makes sense why fans would want the latest entry ported to PC, and their wishes might be coming true.
According to creator Kazunori Yamauchi, the series’ latest entry could be the next PlayStation exclusive to be ported to PC. He claimed that developer Polyphony is now considering releasing its games on the PC platform. However, only a brief comment has been made on the potential port.
In an interview with GTPlanet at the Grand Turismo World Finals, Kazunori Yamauchi hinted that a much-anticipated PC port of the racing sim isn’t an impossible idea shortly. He stated that Gran Turismo is a very fine-tuned title and that few platforms can run the game in 4K/60p natively, so one of the ways they make it possible is to narrow down the platform. He also stated that it’s a challenging topic, but the studio is looking into it and considering it.
With other PlayStation exclusives such as God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon, and Uncharted already making the jump to PC in recent years, Gran Turismo 7 being a cross-platform game isn’t entirely out of the question.
