Frontier Foundry has revealed the Warhammer 40K: Chaos Gate Daemonhunters Duty Eternal expansion pack, developed in collaboration with the creator of the franchise, Games Workshop. The DLC will be the first major expansion for the critically acclaimed turn-based tactical RPG and will allow The Venerable Dreadnought and Techmarine to join the Gray Knights’ crusade against Nurgle.

Warhammer is one of the most popular media franchises, spanning multiple toys, novels, and games. Over the past few years, the series has exploded in popularity, with people playing games such as the free Vermentide 2 that was available a few weeks back. Chaos Gate Daemonhunters is one of these games and has been acclaimed for its turn-based gameplay.

Duty Eternal brings a new campaign that adds a mission variant called Technopage Outbreak; the variant allows you to tag a fifth team member with even more firepower. Also added is The Venerable Dreadnought, a customizable walking robot with a mostly dead Grey Knight buried inside, kept alive only by machinery. While you can’t take the Dreadnought with you on every mission, they can be customized with different weapons to unlock, and the Grey Knight inside can even be in your squad.

While the new Techmarine class isn’t as formidable as the Dreadnaught, they can’t be underestimated. They can deploy and control a host of combat servants that are cybernetic zombies reprogrammed to fight and come to your aid. The Techmarine class can also repair and upgrade their Servitors or your Dreadnought, making them look like a decent support class.

Finally, on the strategy side of things, Duty Eternal also introduces a second attack ship called the Gladius Frigate. The ship allows you to send squads to missions you can’t get to in time or don’t want to deal with. Being in two places at once is very useful even if you don’t play these extra missions, as they will automatically resolve and bring back rewards. However, players should be careful because there is always a chance that the mission will fail, causing your entire squad to be destroyed.
