Vermintide developer Fatshark is celebrating Tide’s “7th Anniversary” by giving away Warhammer: Vermentide 2. “Tide” refers to the release of Warhammer 40: Darktide, so the company is celebrating by giving one of their titles for free.
Vermintide 2 is free to claim on Steam until November 7th at 10:00 AM ET/1:00 PM ET. All you have to do to claim it is to go to the game’s Steam storefront and click on the download link. This game will remain in your library forever.
The are also other gifts lined up. Fatshark also said that a free update would be available on November 8. Called “Trail of Treachery,” the update is the first part of a two-part Snow Adventure Mission. Fatshark may be celebrating Christmas in November, but since Christmas is only a few months away yet stores have begun preparing already, it’s not surprising. Then again, there’s not a lot of fun going on in the Warhammer world, as even an upcoming game titled Blood Bowl 3 will release a few months from now in February 2023.
This free game is the perfect title for players to prepare for Darktide, which is coming on November 30th. Darktide offers the same co-op mining gameplay but focuses on ranged combat and the ability to create your custom character using one of four different classes. A new random loot system also offers gear categorized by rarity.
While the base game is free, many of the game’s DLCs are not. However, with 50% off, most cosmetics are also on sale. Fatshark says the game has “more than doubled” in size since its release in 2018, with paid and free updates. If you’re worried about missing out on some content, it’s available at a discounted price.
