Developer Necrosoft Games have announced that Hyper Gunsport is now available for purchase, meaning users can finally play the game. Currently, the game is only available on PC, Xbox, and Switch, while the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions are confirmed to be in development and will launch soon.
Hyper Gunsport is a cooperative, competitive action game where the goal is to shoot the ball at goals of varying difficulty while the opposing team tries to do the same. Each time the ball crosses the net, its point value increases, so more extended volleys mean more points and higher stakes.
The game takes place in a future where people are tired of conflict, and all weapons are banned. Disputes between countries are now settled by The World’s Game called Gunsport. Guns are now only used for one thing: to shoot the ball into the goal since no weapons can hurt anymore.
The team consists of two positions, goalkeeper and forward. The goalkeeper does not move but can shoot more often and has a broader range and shot radius – often used as a defense. The attacker can move and jump but can take fewer shots, so he has to be accurate and make them count.
Each team also has its unique weapons that are unlocked through skillful play. These weapons require players to think on their feet and change the shape of the game. Sneaky rebounds, shots that explode, and different strategies abound.
There are a few game modes, the first of which is Circuit Mode. It’s an eight-round tournament against opposing teams, with a short story for each of the seven teams. Next up is Versus Mode, where four players play a two-on-two or one-on-one local competitive game. Finally, there’s the AI Tournament, where you can let the AI itself fight.
For now, the game is available on almost all platforms but doesn’t have a PS4 or PS5 version like Gris. The reason for this is unknown, but the developers have assured us they will release it sometime in the future.
Hyper Gunsport is now available on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
