The game “Pokemon Scarlet & Violet” features several “Legendary Pokemons”, previously in the game you could only acquire a handful of Legendary Pokemon, These Pokemon were the “Ruinous Quartet” which included “Chien-Pao”, “Ting-Lu”, “Wo-Chien”, “Chi-Yu”, and of course the Legendary “Koraidon” and “Moraidon”. The “Ruinous Quartet” can be acquired after doing a little side quest.
The “Loyal Three” Pokemon group consists, of “Okidogi”, “Fezandipiti”, and “Munkidori”, these Pokemon are a hero figure in Kitami because they protected that town, these three are part of “Teal Mask” DLC, as well as “Ogrepon” (not the part of the “Loyal Three”)
So if you are new to the game, follow this guide to acquire these legendaries.
Koraidon & Moraidon
When you start the game for the first time, “Koraidon or “Moraidon” will be your first legendary of the game that you’ll be given, If you choose to go with the “Scarlet version” of the game you will get “Koraidon” as your companion, on the other hand, you’ll get “Moraidon” in the “Violet Version” as both are exclusives to their versions. During the game, these Pokémon will serve as travel companions. After the game ends, you can add them to your team.
If you want to acquire both of these Legendary Pokemon in the same version you are playing, you can trade a second Koraidon or Moraidon with a friend.
To get your second Koraidon or Moraidon, just go to “Area Zero” where the last battle happened, you’ll find another Koraidon, Moraidon, you can fight it and use Pokeballs to catch another one, now you can trade this with your friend, and get the other version Pokemon.
Wo-Chien
Wo-Chien is a Dark, Grass-Type Pokémon that looks like a snail. It can be found locked in the Grass-Wither Shrine, you can find this shrine in the “Southeastern side of the Paldea” region, throughout that area, you will find glowing purple poles dispersed all over the area, these poles act as a lock for the shrine and you need to pull out “8” of these, once done you can go to the Shrine’s location, the game will display a prompt to touch the Shrine, select “YES” and “Wo-Chien” will be unlocked. Below is the location of the “Grass-Wither Shrine”.
Chien-Pao
Chien-Pao is a Dark, Ice-Type Pokémon that looks like a snow leopard. Chien-Pao is locked in the Icerend Shrine, which you can find in the “South-western part of the Paldea” region, to unlock the shrine you need to pull out “8” yellow glowing poles dispersed around that region, Once you pull out all “8” poles just travel to this location of the shrine and you can unlock “Chien-Pao”.
Ting-LU
Ting-LU is a Dark, Ground-Type Pokémon that looks like a Rhinosaurus., this pokemon is sealed in the “Groundblight Shrine” which is in the “North-western part of the Paldea” region, To get this Pokemon out of this Shrine, you are required to pull out “8” green glowing poles dispersed around the region, once that is done travel to this location so you can unlock “Ting-Lu”.
Chi-Yu
Chi-Yu is the last one of the Ruinous Quartet. Chi-Yu is a Dark, Fire-Type Pokémon that looks like a fish, it is locked in the “Firescourge Shrine”, this shrine is in ”Paldea’s North-eastern” part, to unlock shrine you are required to pull out “8” Blue poles, which can be found dispersed in the area, once you pull out each one of the blue glowing poles, travel to this location so you can unlock “Chi-Yu”.
Okidogi
“Okidogi” is a Poison, Fighting-Type Pokemon and One of the three Pokémon in The Loyal Three. Okidogi is part of the “Teal Mask” DLC, to catch it, you need to first complete the DLC story, once you’ve completed the DLC, travel to “Paradise Barrens” where it changes its form, and now you can catch it.
Munkidori
“Munkidori” is is Poison, Psychic-Type Pokemon, It is also one of the “Loyal Three”, Munkidori is part of the “Teal Mask” DLC, to acquire this Pokemon you need to finish the main story of the DLC, once it’s finished you can find “Munkidori” in the “Wisteria Feilds” region near the “Wisteria Pond”.
Fezandipiti
“Fezandipiti” is a Poison, Fairy-Type Pokemon, It is the last Pokemon the “Three Loyal”, Fezandipiti as like the other “Three Loyals” is only available once you’ve completed the main story of the “Teal Mask” DLC, after the completion of DLC, head towards the “Fellhorn Gorge”, Fezandipity will be on the “ONI Mountain”, just follow the marker in the image below.
Ogrepon
“Ogrepon” is a Grass-Type Pokemon, this Pokemon uses its masks to change its type to Water, Fire, or Rock, Ogrepon is a part of the Teal Mask DLC. You will fight Ogrepon as part of the story of the DLC, it will change its form “4” times during the fight after you defeat it in its every form, you’ll be able to catch it.
Terapagos
“Terapagos” is a Normal-Type Pokemon, This Pokemon can be acquired as you play towards the end story of the “Indigo DLC”. In the end, after you fight Kiernan, you’ll return to the academy to continue towards the final part of the DLC, once you return you’ll be able to access an area where you’ll fight the last battle of the DLC against Terapagos, when you beat him in battle its a confirmed catch.
Pecharunt
“Pecharunt” is a Poison, Ghost-Type Pokemon, this Pokemon has just been made available for the players to acquire in the game, To catch Pecharunt, you need to play the “Mochi Mayhem”, which is the ending part of the expansion “The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero”, at the very end of the “Epilogue”, you’ll face Pecharunt.
You will need the Pecha Berry, it is a berry that subsides the “Poison Effect”, make your Pokemon eat that berry because Pecharunt has an ability called the “Poison Puppeteer”, which will cause your Pokemon to receive damage from its own attacks, The Pecha Berry can only be used once, so use it wisely. Once you’ve won the battle, Pecharunt is a confirmed catch.
