Where Can I Find The Butcher?
There is no specific way of finding The Butcher. It can be found in any Dungeon room. He is a roaming boss which means you don’t find him, he finds you. He can be found on any account level.
You can find him if you’re level 15 or even when you’re max level. It has been noticed amongst players in Diablo 4 that whenever you’re low on health or low on healing items, that’s when you encounter him.
It is very important that you beat him on your first encounter, as you will receive valuable loot for doing so. if The Butcher becomes successful in defeating you, it will despawn. This means you’ll have to find him again and fight with his HP back to max.
How To Beat The Butcher
Firstly, you’ll need to know about every one of its attacks and make sure you have a counter for them. These attacks are lethal and can kill you within minutes if you’re not careful.
These attacks come one after the other with almost no pauses in between. He’ll chase your character ignoring almost everything that comes in its way. Following are his attacks and what he uses to make sure you’re eliminated:
Sickle Swing: The demon’s primary attack involves a forceful cleaver swing, inflicting substantial damage.
Headbutt: This attack deals less damage but stuns the player leaving them vulnerable.
Roar: A roar that is with a huge circle radius that slows all the players if they are inside. This attack does not deal damage but is often used by The Butcher when the player is trying to run away.
Sickle Grab: This attack is used by The Butcher to pull the player close leaving them stunned and vulnerable to follow-up attacks.
Charge: The butcher dashes towards the player hitting them with his shoulder leaving the player briefly stunned.
Play with Friends
Defeating The Butcher alone is not easy. While waiting around and getting better loot from chests and gearing up might not seem like a bad shout. There is no guarantee for success even with the best build.
One is always better than two and two is always better than three. Teaming up with even one friend can make a huge difference to the damage that you deal to The Butcher.
Your friends can get his attention on them while you heal and then you get back in the game with a full health bar. You can also have yourself being the barbarian who can tank all the attacks, while your friends with ranged classes can go at him, lowering its hp.
Also with the barbarian, you can use your teleport and blizzard abilities to stun him. Then you can bring his HP down by melting him with your ice shards.
Keep Your Distance
Keeping your distance from the butcher is not as easy as it sounds. He moves fast and hits hard. However, his abilities are mostly close-range melee attacks that don’t reach all that far.
Use this to your advantage by maintaining your distance and hitting it with your ranged attacks. Play as far away as you can and melt him down with your abilities. Make sure you’re ready to press your evade button as he does have one ranged ability. When it comes close to you, run as far as you can and repeat the process.
Use Your Stuns
A lot of classes in the game have abilities that stun The Butcher. Use them as much as you can on him. This can take away a healthy chunk of HP from him. Whenever you have your stun back hit him with it and then melt with your ranged or close melee attacks
Avoid It’s Charge & Sickle Grab
The charge and sickle grab attacks of The Butcher are extremely lethal. You would not want to be on the receiving end of these attacks. A well-timed evade can go a long way in keeping you alive.
Avoid them at all costs. After you’ve dodged these attacks there is a brief pause in-between which makes him open to your attacks. Turn the odds towards you by hitting him in between these attacks as he is extremely vulnerable.
Have Max Health potions
Having a full health bar is a no-brainer but having a full set of health potions can help you defeat The Butcher. Given the fact that you never know when or where he’ll spawn, having max health potions can go a long way in your fight.
Pick up as much as you can either from the ground or from chests and be ready to give it your best.
Use Terrain To Your Advantage
The map itself can be a blessing in disguise if used properly. Use the obstacles or terrain to your advantage while constantly hitting him with your attacks. You can also use it to heal and then get back in the game.
