Ancient Dragon Lansseax is an optional Great Enemy Boss in Elden Ring that players have the option to defeat as they advance through the game’s main plot and after it has been completed. She is a Four-Winged Ancient Dragon who is the sister of Lichdragon Fortissax. She is another form of this dragon you can trounce while progressing with Fia’s questline. Ancient Dragon Lansseax also has a standard enemy form named Farum Azula Dragon that you will encounter while advancing through the region Crumbling Farum Azula.
Ancient Dragon Lansseax Location
Ancient Dragon Lansseax will appear up on the hill near the Abandoned Coffin Site of Grace for the first time. She will retreat from that location when her health is about 20% remaining.
The boss’s second location is near the Rampartside Path Site of Grace. It is near the Abandoned Coffin Site of Grace, and after retreating, she will reposition herself there. Follow the route from the Rampartside Path Site of Grace, go up the hill’s eastern side, and you will reencounter her, flying down on your position.

Best Tips for Ancient Dragon Lansseax Boss Battle
- It is recommended to be at least level 100+ to beat Lansseax easily.
- The Recommend Weapon Level for this boss is +9 (Somber) and +23 (Standard).
- Multiplayer Co-op is allowed for this boss.
- Spirit Summoning is allowed in this boss fight.
- Use the Halberd Weapon or Heavy Thrusting Swords for this boss fight to deal Pierce Damage.
- Use Latenna, the Albinauric spirit, as it will shoot arrows that deal piercing damage from a distance.

Ancient Dragon Lansseax Attacks and Counters
Lansseax will inflict red lightning around her and on your position. Getting hit by lightning can take almost 80% of your health (one shot), so you must dodge them no matter what to keep standing in the battle.
Lansseax’s Glaive (Slam)
She will stand on her back legs and raise her left arm to create a massive lightning bolt. The bolt of lightning will look like a weapon in her grip, and she will slam the lightning on the ground, creating waves of lightning in the forward direction. Roll through the attack or jump over the waves (using Torrent) to dodge the attack. You can land a hit on her head after dodging and getting close to her.
Lansseax’s Glaive (Sweep)
She stands on her hind legs, raises her left arm, and generates a massive lightning bolt. It will look like a weapon in her grip, and She will sweep the lightning off the ground and send waves of it moving forward. It is performed in close range and is tough to counter as the waves cover most of the ground. However, you need to roll through the attack or jump over the waves (using Torrent) to dodge the attack. You can hit her head after dodging and getting close to her.
Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike
She aggressively roars while expanding her head and wings, causing several glowing red patches to appear on the ground around her. After a few seconds, the red lightning will strike the glowing patches. You need to get close to her to dodge this attack. Get underneath the middle part of her body and stand next to her right claw. She will gradually lower her head, allowing you to deal bonus damage to her with your thrusting weapon.
Claw Combo
She will slam her left hand on the ground and then use her right hand to sweep the ground to the left side. These strikes will cause lightning along the path of the attack after a few seconds of the attack. Get to a safe distance when you see her raising her left arm. If you stay close to her, you need to roll back a couple of times to dodge the first slam attack and then roll before she swipes her other hand.
Right Swipe
She will sweep the ground with her right hand to the left side, leaving a trail of lightning on the path, which will activate a few seconds later after the attack. It is similar to the Claw Combo, and you cannot be near her attack’s path. You need to either get to her backside or get to a safe distance from her.
Vertical Slam
She will stand on her back legs and raise her left arm. After a short moment, she will drop down in the forward direction and slams her right hand into the ground that, causes a small electrical burst around the area of her hand. Roll to the left side to dodge the attack and wait for the burst. After the burst, you can attack her head with a couple of hits or heavy attacks.
Double Bite
She will stand on her back legs and arch her neck to her right to bite in the forward direction. After that, she will follow up by arching her neck to her left to bite in the forward direction again. You need to sprint out of the attack range, and as she finishes her attack, you can land a charged heavy attack.
Single Bite
She will arch her neck to her left and then bites in the forward direction. You will not be able to sprint away from this attack as she does this attack very quickly. Roll through the bite, and It will allow you to land a hit on her head.
Rearing Firebreath
She will stand on her back legs and arch her neck before she spews fire in the forward direction. After that, she will spew fire under her body, then right side to her left side, and then end the attack by spewing fire in the forward direction. Use Torrent to get to the backside while she spews fire. Get to her tail and use your weapon to keep attacking her.
Forward Firebreath
She will arch her neck and spew a long stream of fire in the forward direction. She will do this attack when you are far from her. Use the Torrent and go in the diagonally right direction to get close to her.
Aerial Firebreath
She will crouch down, then launch herself in the air and spew a gout of fire at the player’s location. This attack is performed when you are beneath her. Sprint backward to dodge the fire and then use the Torrent to get close to her again.
Lightning Slam
She will stand up on her legs and then slam both hands on the ground under her chest, creating a large shockwave at the impact area. She will do this attack when you are beneath her. Sprint out from under the boss to dodge the slams and then roll towards the shockwave to dodge the attack.
Reverse Right Swipe
She will swipe its right hand backward after the Right Swipe Attack, leaving a trail of lightning explosion. She will only do this attack when a player is standing on the right side of her. Roll to dodge the swipe attack and then roll again to dodge the lightning attack.
Repositioning Claw Swipe
She will raise her left arm and swipe it from the right side to the left side, leaving a trail of lightning. She will turn during this attack to face the player. Sprint backward to dodge the attack or roll through the swipe and then through the lightning to dodge the attack.
Wing Beating
She will stand on her back legs and flap her wings four times, stunning the players. This attack is performed when you are beneath her. Sprint backward to dodge the attack, or dodge each flap and attack her after the fourth flap.
Tail Swipe
She will raise her tail, bend it to the left side, and then swing herself in a counterclockwise direction to face the player. Sprint away to dodge the attack, or you can use the Torrent to jump over her sweeping tail to get close to her.
Repositioning Hop
She will leap in the forward direction and glide to a short distance. She will turn after landing on the ground. You can run towards Lansseax’s landing position to attack her.
How to Beat Ancient Dragon Lansseax Easily?
The strategy will be to equip Halberd for this battle, as you will be doing piercing damage on each strike with this weapon type. Try to summon Latenna the Albinauric before engaging with the dragon, and when the boss flies down, it will shoot arrows at the dragon to get her attention. After that, you need to use Torrent and hit her legs while continuously moving around her. Once her stance is broken, you will get to hit her with a critical strike to deal immersive damage.
Melee Users
Use the Torrent to increase the chances of evading her attacks. Place yourself on higher or lower grounds to get over the shockwaves more easily. Double Jumps of your stead will make it easier to land strikes on her head to deal more damage. You can easily get close to her and get away from her by riding on it.
You need to keep changing between the higher and lower grounds of the hill to evade her attacks and get close to her to attack her from behind. Keep hitting her from behind or underneath her and then back off from her to evade her close attacks. Repeat this process until she is defeated.
Magic and Ranged Users
It is recommended to use the Torrent because the distance between the dragon and the player’s position matters a lot when using spells or ranged weapons. You will still have to get in a range of spells and range weapons to land attacks on her. Since the boss covers a large area with her AOE attacks, you would have to get out of the impact area by using stead.
You can easily get around her and reposition for the next spell or range attack, and after landing the attack, change positions. If you keep repositioning herself after every attack, she will not be able to do a series of attacks on you but focuses on repositioning herself, which will open more opportunities for attacking her.
