Bandai Namco has announced the release date of Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot for PS5 and Xbox Series S|X, along with an announcement. The next-gen version will be released on January 13, 2023, and the surprise is that the fourth DLC starts on the same day.

Season Pass 2 for DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT is almost here!

The time to fight for it all begins January 13th, 2023 in "BARDOCK – Alone Against Fate" – will you be ready to defend the Saiyans?

If you play on next-gen, you can also join in too! https://t.co/2eBFntvwTp pic.twitter.com/G6FTS5wYlS

After being announced a few months ago, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot’s new Bardock: Alone Against Fate DLC has a release date. A new trailer released by Bandai Namco has confirmed that the DLC will help kick off next year when it releases on January 13, the same day that the next-gen game versions will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S platforms. This new DLC is just the first of a three-part release for the game’s Season Pass 2, and more DLC is planned for later.

While the story behind the DLC is known, Bandai Namco also recently shared more information about the game’s console upgrade, such as some perks exclusive to the game’s modes and features. Improvements to the next-gen versions include faster loading times, smooth gameplay up to 60 FPS, and new visual details to enhance immersion in the world of Dragon Ball. The Card Warriors card game included in this game will also be available in the next-gen versions of the title as an offline single-player version.

The recently posted trailer shows Bardock fighting several different ranks of Frieza Force members before Frieza himself appears at the end. Bardock is a popular character, so it’s easy to see why people are interested in the DLC. Towards the end of the trailer, Bandai Namco reminded players that there is more to come as the plans for the other two DLCs have yet to be announced or given release dates. It’s far from unprecedented to see DB games get this much post-launch support, with the likes of FighterZ and Xenoverse 2 still going strong. ai

Dragon Ball Z Kakarat’s next-gen versions and Bardock DLC will launch on January 13th, 2023.
