Earlier this week, information leaked about a new mid-season event coming to Battlefield 2042. The event was called the Battle of Nordvik, and while this leak was thought to be a rumor, it has now been revealed to be real. DICE announced the Battle of Nordvik event today and also posted a trailer. This event will only last for three weeks, so there will be new content here soon.
Since Battlefield 2042 launched last year, the player reactions have been negative. Many dissatisfied players criticized the game’s missing features and viewed it as a mediocre experience. But the reception to the game has been slowly shifting, as the game just entered its third season. The new season added quite a lot, such as a railgun and a map set in the Swedish forest as the third free map so far at launch. DICE has announced that the fourth season is coming early next year and that a fifth season will happen sometime after.
The event will start on December 20th and end on January 10th. The game’s multiplayer event is divided into three separate weeks, each with its phase of the pivotal conflict between the Nordvik Control Corps of Western forces and the Black Storm shadow ops regiment. The first phase runs from December 20-27 and is the assault on Nordvik. The first phase is a 32v32 conquest attack with no air vehicles available during the matches.
The second week starts from December 27th, lasts till January 2nd, and is the defense of Nordvik. This 16v16 mode will feature raiders rushing to secure objectives on their way to the frontline. The match goes into rush mode if they break through the enemy lines. After going into the rush mode, the attackers must capture the M-COMs scattered around the Nordvik factory.
The final phase is called the Liberation of Nordvik and will start on January 3rd and last till January 10th. This battle phase will be a 128-player war, as players will also have faster redeployment times, movement speeds, and vehicle summons.
