In “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” the “Joolo Nah Shrine” is situated in the northeast part of the Koukot Plateau in the Gerudo Highlands. This shrine becomes visible after completing the “Test of Will” quest.
Firstly, head to the location of the “Test of Will” quest. Open the map, and travel to this specific area as shown in the image below.
Note: The “Test of Will” Quest consists of two stages. Therefore, before proceeding, there are two essential items required for the successful completion of the quest.
- The initial requirement is the FlameBreaker Armor, obtainable from Goron City. This armor is crucial for the first stage of the quest.
- The Second thing required is the Fireproof Elixir, you can get this at the Foothill Stable.
When you reach this part of the map, you’ll see three Gorons just standing there in plain sight.
Engage in a conversation with the Gorons, and they will issue a challenge known as the “Test of Will.” This challenge involves enduring extreme heat for a specific duration without succumbing to it.
During the initial stage of the challenge, don the “FlameBreaker Armor” and ascend the heated ramp. The challenge initiates, and after a certain duration, the three Gorons will succumb one by one. Completing the first stage of the challenge allows us to progress to the next stage.
Following the completion of the first stage, the dialogue will progress, and the second stage of the quest will commence. In the second stage, the game restricts the use of any armor, necessitating the use of the Fireproof Elixir.
After concluding the dialogue, utilize the fireproof elixir and ascend the second heated ramp. Remain on the ramp and await the completion of the test. After a certain duration, the second stage will be completed, marking the successful conclusion of the “Test of Will” Quest.
Upon completing this quest, the “Joolo Nah Shrine” will manifest in front of you, allowing you to enter the shrine.
So, Now you are in the shrine, what to do next?
The shrine comprises three rooms, and to progress to the subsequent rooms, you must solve a puzzle in each one. Upon successful completion of a puzzle, the metal bars will retract, granting access to the next room.
The First Room
The initial room is the simplest. Inside, you’ll find a massive green cube with pointed ends on each flat surface. Additionally, an electrical supply device is suspended above the cube.
Use the terminal in front of you to control the cube movement, now move the cube around so that each of the pointy ends of the cube gets electrified once it comes in contact with the power supply. As soon as all of the ends are electrified, the metal bars will open up, and you can make your way towards the second room.
The Second Room
From here on onward the puzzles get a little more difficult, as you enter the second room you will notice another cube almost like the one in the previous room but, this cube has strong air passing through it in four different directions.
Same as in the previous room, use the terminal to control the cube’s movement, you need to adjust the cube’s position in such a way, that the air stream gets aligned with all of the fans in the room, but when you adjust the cube in this position only 3 fans will start rotating, the bottom right fan will not rotate, as it is placed a little lower.
To fix that we need to raise the stationary fan’s position, use magnesis to lift the metal block of the bottom left fan and place it on the weight switch (orange switch) of the bottom right fan.
As soon as the metal block is placed, the stationary fan will now start rotating.
Now glide onto the other fan’s weight switch and stand on it, as soon as you stand on it all four fans will be leveled and rotating freely, and the metal bars will go up, but you need to use “Stasis” so that the weight switch remains in its place providing you enough time to move into the next room.
The Third Room
As soon as you enter the final room you’ll see the last puzzle, this cube has torches attached to its flat surfaces and there is a fire source above it, you need to move the cube and light up all the torches, the difficult part is that there are two water streams that put out the lit torches when you try to light them all.
Above the fire source you’ll notice leaves, just shoot a fire arrow at the leaves, the leaves will be burned and a chest will drop down.
The chest contains a Gerudo Spear, after collecting that use magnesis to move the chest onto the weight switch near the left water stream. The left pillar will get lowered, making it easier to adjust the cube.
Another much easier way to light all the torches is to use your fire arrows.
Once all the torches are lit the final gate will open up and you can get your spirit orb from inside.
