Arkane Austin has released the new Redfall story trailer ahead of its release date, May 2nd. The game is an open-world co-op, vampire-slaying first-person shooter developed by Arkane Austin and Bethesda, and will be released on PC and Xbox series X and S.
The trailer introduces Redfall, a mystical town besieged by homicidal vampires. The vampiric plague has been brought on by scientists working on a program at Aeveum headquarters.
The plot revolves around Aevum, an immortality-obsessed organization that has inadvertently unleashed the Redfall terror, causing the town to go into all sorts of miseries, be it the people going missing or the town being painted red as the sun is permanently eclipsed.
The immersive world design, narrative-driven gameplay, and on top of all, the cooperative mechanics will cater to an exclusive experience in which players are to unravel the mystery of Aeveum headquarters and save Redfall from the vampire menace.
This time around, Arkane has also included co-op, allowing players to venture into the open world with up to four friends or alone. The trailer emphasized the newly added co-op mode, implying that teamwork and cooperation will be essential in overcoming the Redfall plague.
Furthermore, the game includes four heroes, each of whom possesses unique abilities that put them upfront against the legion of vampires. Redfall lets you play as one of the heroes.
Jacob Boyer, one of the four heroes, has the ability to become invisible and is skilled at long-range combat. Devinder Crousely, an expert in crowd control with various gadgets at his disposal, comes in second, followed by Remi De La Rosa, an ex-military engineer with her robot companion. Lalyla Ellison, the final hero on the list, combines firepower with telekinetic abilities and is the deadliest of the four heroes.
