If you have been playing video games for a long time, then you know that open-world RPGs require checkpoints and save points where players can access multiple functions such as fast traveling or resting. A Survival Tent acts like that in Fallout 76.

The Survival Tent is a free item, but it is only accessible to players with Fallout 1st membership, which costs $12.99 per month or $99.99 per year. The users who have purchased this membership may need help finding the instructions to place the tent, as the developers did not provide clear instructions. Setting it up is very simple, and here’s how you can do it.

How to Set up a Survival Tent in Fallout 76?

If you’re playing this game on the Xbox or PlayStation, press up on the D-Pad to access the Favorites menu and then triangle or Y, respectively, to place the survival tent. If you’re playing this on the PC, press F for the Favorites menu and T to set up the tent. Keep checking your membership regularly, as the tent will disappear if it expires.

Note: You cannot place a Survival Tent near any settlement, whether a village or a base. The tent will turn green when it is eligible to be placed in an open area.

How to Tear Down the Survival Tent?

Once a Survival Tent is placed in the game, it can not be torn down. Do not fret, though, since you can relocate the tent, and this also does not cost the player any resources, so feel free to move around your camp.

FAQs

Can you change the color of the survival tent?

You can customize the Survival Tent to your liking via skins that can be bought from the Atomic Shop in the Fallout 1st Tent menu. The average skin of the Survival Tent costs around 800 atoms, and some of the tent skins are Holiday tent, Responders tent, Settler tent, Raider tent, and Abandoned shack, among others. To change the skin, select it and build the survival tent at a new location. The previous one will despawn automatically.

How can the non-subscribed members get access to a survival tent?

Users not subscribed to Fallout 1st do not have access to this feature. However, they can use their teammate’s tent to fast travel for free during rare occasions, such as the “Fallout 76 Anniversary Event”.

Does the survival tent displace items?

No, the Survival Tent keeps the player’s findings like cars and rocks.
