In the Fortnite 23.50 patch update, a challenging set of quests called “Encrypted Cipher Quests” was introduced, offering enticing rewards upon successful completion. Cracking the code to find quest locations involves deciphering cryptic messages and exploring various landmarks. Follow the steps below to navigate and conquer these Cipher Quests.
Cracking the Encrypted Cipher Code
Maybe you remember that the Epic Games official Fortnite page tweeted about the downtime for patch 23.50, but a code was written in numbers “3 18 1 3 11 20 8 5 3 15 4 5”. You have to replace the number in the correct order with the letters they represent in the alphabet.
After doing this step, you’ll get “Crack the Code” which means that you have to do the same for the Encrypted Quest. But there is another step that you will find in Fortnite while you’re looking at the Cipher Quest.
But there’s another layer to this puzzle: a looping encrypted code (0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3) that you’ll need to subtract from the numbers in each quest name. Subtract the first number given in the looping encrypted number from the first number in the quest name, and you have to repeat this for each quest name. After subtracting you have to replace the resulting numbers with the letters of the alphabet to discover the real code
Cipher Quest Stage 1
The first Cipher Quest is available at the top of the Cipher Quest tab in Fortnite. Select the Quest to view the quest hint and the code given.
Inspect the wall, beneath the eastern building at 1.17.23.9.14 19.19.24.1.21.6 Now you have to subtract the looping code (0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3) from the encrypted message given, and after translating the numbers directly turn them into words: Anvil Square.
You will find the first Encrypted Cipher Quest in Anvil Square. There will be a small garage-type building located in the northeast corner of the area. Look closely at the storage locker pushed against the open doorway.
Break the locker to clear up the way to the secret basement. As you go down the stairs you will see a glowing indicator on the workbench ahead. Use this glowing indicator to complete the quest no one.
Cipher Quest Stage 2: Spray at the Splits Bowl
After finishing the initial Cipher Quest, head to the Fortnite Quest Tab and select the second Cipher Quest. In the quest details, you’ll find a coded message: “Evie, it is time for us to come to you, see you soon 19.19.19.1.27 1.22 22.16.15.10.20.21 2.17.26.12.” Subtract the looping code (0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3) to decode the numbers into words, revealing the instruction “Spray at the Splits Bowl.”
To complete the second Cipher Quest, you have to travel to Splits Bowl located in Faulty Splits. After reaching there enter the bowling alley open your emote menu, and use your special “Distant Roar” spray anywhere inside the building to solve the second quest.
Cipher Quest Stage 3
Navigate to your Cipher Quest Tab in Fortnite and select the quest titled “12.18.15.5.14.25 14.4.2.22.” Within the quest details, there’s a code mentioned. Subtract the looping code, “Lonely Labs,” from the encrypted code, and you’ll uncover the answer to this quest.
Venture to the northeast part of the map and locate the open storage container beside the capture point flag.
Go down the stairs and use any of the computers present at the bottom floor to complete this Cipher quest.
Cipher Quest Stage 4
In your Cipher Quest Tab, select the quest that says “Dig at the Top of 19.11.2.20.22.5.20.8.4. 22.13.1.4.19.” Take a hint from the code “0.3.1.0.2.0.2.3” and subtract it from the encrypted message. After decoding, the numbers reveal the words “Shatter Slabs.” So, the quest is about digging at the top of something called “Shatter Slabs.”
Travel to the northwest region of Shatter slabs, and go on the hill that has multiple levels. Reach the top of the hill onto the roofed area, you will find a Quest digging spot nearby.
Swing your pickaxe on the Cipher Quest spot, and an arcade machine will pop out of the ground, hence completing the fourth and the last Cipher Quest.
Rewards
You’ll get different rewards depending on the Cipher Quest that you have decoded and solved. They can be Unecrypted Cipher Quest or Encrypted Cipher Quest. After completing Cipher Quest you will get extra XP, which you can exchange in-game for different rewards.
Reward 1: After completing 7 Unencrypted Cipher Quest, you will get ‘Keep the peace spray”.
Reward 2: After completing 15 Unencrypted Cipher Quest, you will get an “Order up loading screen”.
Reward 3: After completing 24 Unencrypted Cipher Quest, you will get “Diciphered Emoticon”
Reward 4: After completing 3 Encrypted Cipher Quest, you will get “Circuitry Wrap”.
Reward 5: After completing the second Encrypted Cipher Quest you will get a special reward “Distant Roar” Spray.
