Fia’s Champions is an optional boss challenge in Elden Ring, as it does not require you to beat it in order to progress in your story. However, it is necessary for you to complete Fia’s questline and achieve the Age of Duskborn Ending. This fight is very unique as it does not possess a single target unit with a set attack pattern, but rather FIVE different variations of NPCs. Two of these Invader NPCs, Rogier, and Lionel, are met while progressing through the game.
Fia’s Champions Location
Make your way to Deeproot Depths from a tunnel next to the Across the Roots Site of Grace. Go to the other end of the arena where Godwyn the Golden’s corpse is situated. When you approach the corpse, the boss fight will trigger on its own.

Best Tips to Fight Fia’s Champions
- Multiplayer (CO-OP) and Spirit Summons are available for this fight.
- It is recommended to be at least Level 50-60 to fight Fia’s Champions easily.
- Use greatswords, as the enemies have little to no poise.
- Maintain distance to avoid being hit by projectiles and make use of the vast arena.
How to Beat Fia’s Champions Easily?
As aforementioned, this boss fight is unique to each player as the NPC that appear are randomized on other players’ builds. If played offline, this boss fight will have 3 champions with different weapons and move sets.
Fia’s Champion
The first wave (Fia’s Champion) is easy just roll through the attacks, as they are pretty easy to dodge, and then lean in to hit them. When you beat the first champion, Sorcerer Rogier will appear.
Sorcerer Rogier
Rogier wields a rapier and does magic spells a lot. Ensure to maintain distance from him and look for the moment he casts the spell. When he is in the animation for the spell, you can attack him and do a lot of damage due to Rogier’s very little poise. An interesting fact about Rogier is that you can actually kill him before he even casts his first spell if you wield a greatsword and stagger him. After you defeat Rogier, three NPCs will appear at the same time, with two champions and Lionel taking on the arena.
Lionel the Lionhearted
This phase is a little tricky, as dealing with three enemies at the same time can be quite a hassle. Start off this phase by summoning a Spirit, preferably the Mimic Tear, while it is busy distracting the enemies, lure one to yourself and get to slashing. Eliminate the Champions first, and then fight Lionel as he wields a Heavy Thrusting Sword and can be quite fast on his feet, stay on your toes and always roll sideways as rolling inwards will result in getting hit. Repeat hit and run strategy, and eventually, you will be able to beat him out.
Rewards for beating Fia’s Champions
- 40,000 Runes
- Fia’s Mist: A sorcery that applies death blight to the enemies.
