As the Esports industry is growing rapidly, it has started to get actual recognition and support from the countries. France has always been one step ahead in the European region when it comes to gaming and esports. The French Government is now building a ‘National Esports Ecosystem’ strategy to attract and support esports players ahead of the 2024 Olympic Games.
This strategy will be revealed and implemented in the upcoming summer season, as announced at the conference last night by France Esports President Désiré Koussawo. The Government will work with esports organizations to make the strategy more efficient. The strategy will aim to make France a ‘Big Esports Nation’ as stated by their President in September 2022.
The France Esports association, the Minister of Sports, Stakeholders, and the Deputy Minister of Digital Transition attended the conference in Paris. Players can now apply for a particular visa dedicated to only esports events instead of getting tourism or work visas to avoid any potential delays. This is a really good step by the government to make sure the event proceeds smoothly.
An Esports Week will also take place at the 2024 Olympic Games; the details for this particular week will be updated later this year.
