Team Ninja has confirmed the release date of their upcoming game, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. The game was first announced this summer during the Xbox Bethesda Showcase. In the showcase, it was confirmed that the game would launch on day one on Game Pass, meaning subscribers would gain access to the game at no extra cost.
The release date of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty was confirmed to be March 3rd, 2023. The game has been verified to release on all major platforms besides the Nintendo Switch.
The game is the latest title by Team Ninja, perhaps the most well-known for their Ninja Gaiden franchise. The game is an action RPG set during the Three Kingdoms era of Chinese history and will feature more fantasy elements, such as dragons. Some people have stated that the game looks like a Soulslike game, in the same vein as Nioh. It seems pretty difficult, as players must master the game’s combat and mechanics to succeed.
A demo for the game was released last month, which gave players an idea of what to expect. The gameplay was praised and was compared to other titles like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and featured an excellent combat system. From the demo, we garnered that the game will feature a morale system in which players can increase their rank as they get stronger, allowing them to challenge more difficult enemies. It was also confirmed that the game wouldn’t feature any difficulty options.
Team Ninja also confirmed that the game would have multiple versions. Along with the Standard edition, the Digital Deluxe edition, and the Steelbook edition.
As stated before, Wo Long will release in March of next year. Currently, only a few big games are slated to be released in the month alongside it, which might impact sales. The first game on the list is Skull and Bones, which will be released a week later; the Resident Evil 4 remake is also slated to be released in March, at the end of the month. As for now, the game doesn’t seem to have any competitors for now.
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty will launch for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
