City Of The Ancients is part of the Shadowbringers Expansion Content of Final Fantasy XIV, and it is a rare quest in which the game has given you very few directions to finish the quest. Completing The City Of Ancients quest in Final Fantasy 14
Before starting the main quest, the player must have level 79 and have completed the “Waiting in the Depths” quest. The City Of Ancients quest begins when you talk to Y’shtola. You can find her at The Ondo Cups in The Tempest at X:33.1 and Y:16.9 coordinates.
Once you’ve spoken with her, she’ll ask you to follow her for the investigation. Meet her again at coordinates X:29.4, Y:12.6 for further instructions. After talking to her, she’ll assign you two tasks that you must do to complete this quest. Both of which are given below.
- Inspect the Ondo Cups from the survey point.
- Use the mythril knife to connect scrapings from the remnant wall.
For the survey point, It is close to Y’shtola. You have to go a bit to her right, and you can find the survey point at X:29.5 and Y:13.0.
Upon interacting with the survey point. You’ll have to inspect the building. You can examine other things, but you must inspect the Distinctive Window to progress from the Inspection part of the quest.
For the second part of the quest, You need to go to X:28 and Y:11.8 and interact with the remnant wall to use the Mythril knife on the wall. This task can’t be accomplished, so you must return to Y’shtola at X:29 and y:12.5 to inform her. This will trigger a cutscene, After which Y’shtola will give you a Qitana Ravel mural, which contains an image of a building resembling one in the Tempest.
Now, you just have to find a building that matches the image above, but you’ll not be given any map marker that shows you the location of this building. You have to find it yourself. To save you time, The pinpoint location of the building in the image is X:22 and Y:11. Just go there, interact with the survey point, and talk to Y’shtola after the cutscene, and the quest will be completed. This quest grants you 820,000XP and 968 Gil.
