Member of the Lake Guardians Trio “Mesprit” is a Psychic-Type Pokémon featured in the game Pokémon Diamond and Pearl. It is a legendary Pokémon found in the Sinnoh Region and can be a valuable addition to your Pokémon list. Finding Mesprit could be a little trickier because you need to track it down while it keeps changing its location on the map. In this guide, you’ll get all the information about how to track and catch “Mesprit”.
How to find Mespirit?
To catch Mesprit, you first need to complete the Mount Coronet mission where you would need to beat Team Galactic, and you’ll be able to catch Palkia or Dialga depending on your version of the game, and lastly get your hands on The National Pokédex.
Once that’s done, you need to visit Verity Cavern which is located in the North-West of Twin Leaf town. You’ll need to use Surf to get across the lake to the Verity Cavern.
Upon entering you will encounter Mespirit but unfortunately, you won’t be able to catch it there, it will disappear after showing its presence, Soon after Professor Rowan will show up, and he will tell you that if you use the Marking Map Poketech App you will be able to track Mespirit.
To get the Marking Map, head to the Poketch HQ in the Jubilife City, and talk to the NPC known as Founder, and it will give you the Marking Map. Once you get the map you will be able to track Mesipirt, but it will keep changing its location whenever you try to get close to it.
To be able to encounter Mespirit easily without following him all over the map, Get to Flaroma Town, and walk to the east where Route 205 connects to Valley Windworks, now you need to walk To and Fro between Route 205 and Valley Windworks. You need to walk forward and backward until Mespirit appears in the same area as you.
Save your game here because Mespirit is a fleeing Pokemon, so you might need to perform the to-and-fro action to track it again if it flees. Once the game is saved, proceed and use repel in the grass to encounter Mespirit.
How to catch Mespirit?
To catch Mesprit, you could use the Master Ball or Quick Balls. The Master Ball is a better choice as you’ll be able to catch Mesprit without failing. If you are using Quick Balls, you might need to try more than once.
You need to have a level 50 Pokémon that knows the False Swipe move and has a Speed stat of 80 or higher. False Swipe will weaken Mesprit by reducing its HP without fainting it. You might need to track it several times by using the Marking App, as Mesprit will flee from battle until its HP is low.
Once its HP is at the lowest, you can use Quick Balls or the Master Ball to catch it. A Pokémon with the Shadow Tag Ability might be helpful as it will prevent Mesprit from fleeing the battle. Wobbuffet can be a great choice to go with.
