In Vampire Survivors, a character that becomes extremely powerful when leveled up, yet one of the most difficult to play with, is Toastie. Toastie starts in the game with its weapon, the Peachone, which rains bombs on the enemies. Toastie can only be unlocked after you’ve unlocked Exdash, another secret playable character like Toastie. Why should you unlock Toastie?
Toastie is one of the hardest characters to play with initially because of its weak stats. It starts in the game with 1 HP, which will lead to “Him” instantly dying in the run if it comes in contact with any damage. But if you patiently manage to surpass Toastie’s Level above 100, its Max Health would jump to +9998, and upon surpassing Level 200, its armor would reach a whopping +65520. These stats will make Toastie invincible.
How to unlock Toastie?
You can unlock Toastie by defeating The Stalker, which appears in the stages Dairy Plant, Capella Magna, and The Bone Zone. The chances of The Stalker spawning in a run vary from map to map. In the Dairy Plant map, when you start a run, there is a 1% chance of The Stalker spawning, which, after some time, will increase up to 30% at the 8- and 12-minute mark. In the Capella Magna and the Bone Zone maps, the spawn chances are 100% at the 10-Minutes mark.
In the Dairy Plant map, if Stalker spawns, it will be the green one, and you will need either the Pentagram, Gorgeous Moon, Infinite Corridor, The Rosary, or the Crimson Shroud to kill it. If you don’t have these weapons in your inventory, you can use the Minecarts on this map. To use the Minecarts trick, try to move in such a way that the Stalker gets on your right side aligned to the Minecarts track, then use the cart. Stalker will get defeated as the Minecart is a one-shot kill.
Once Stalker is defeated, Toastie will appear on the bottom-right of the map for just half a second, you quickly need to press the Down-arrow Key and Enter both at the same time. If executed in time, you’ll hear a chime, indicating that you’ve successfully unlocked Toastie.
The Drowner
Alternatively, to defeating the Stalker, Toastie can also be unlocked if you defeat The Drowner. It appears on the maps Gallo Tower, Capella Magna, and The Bone Zone. Similar to the Stalker, The Drowner also spawns at different timestamps in these maps: in the Gallo Tower, it spawns at the 25-minute mark; in Capella Magna at 5 minutes; and at the 20-minute mark in The Bone Zone.
The Rosary item, Infinite Corridor, Crimson Shroud, and the Gorgeous Moon can be used against The Drowner on The Bone Zone and the Gallo Tower map. The Pentagram is only effective against The Drowner on the Capella Magna Map, but not on the others.
If you are using the Pentagram, make sure that it evolved up to its maximum level. After the Pentagram is fired, the Drowner will be defeated, and you can unlock Toastie.
