The new Rocket Racing game mode made its debut in Fortnite Chapter 5: Season 1, bringing along a fleet of new cars, including the iconic OCTANE from Rocket League. While the OCTANE had appeared in Fortnite Battle Royale during Chapter 3: Season 4, this time it arrived without its conventional boost and jump features.
Where to find the Octane in Battle Royale
Ensure that the Octane is equipped by going to your Locker and opening the Cars tab from the left side.
From here, click the little car icon and select the OCTANE from the CAR BODY menu.
Head into Battle Royale, where you’ll need to find a Whiplash. If you’re the first person to sit in the car, it will transform into the OCTANE after playing a short animation.
The Whiplash can be found across the map, randomly spawning at major Points of Interest (POIs). Here is a list of major places where the vehicle may be found:
- Reckless Railways
- In the nearby parking lots.
- On the side of the nearby roads.
- Snooty Steppes
- At Peter Griffin’s Mansion.
- On the side of the nearby roads.
- Ruined Reels
- Right outside the ruins on the side of the road.
- Pleasant Piazza
- At the Ship It! Express building.
- All around the plaza.
- Classy Courts
- On the side of the nearby roads.
- In the nearby parking lots.
- Ritzy Riviera
- All around the town square.
- On the side of the nearby roads.
- Rebel’s Roost
- At the various cabins.
- On the side of the nearby roads.
- Grand Glacier
- Outside the Grand Glacier hotel.
- On the side of nearby roads.
- Hazy Hillside
- All around the town square.
- At the small house on the outskirts of town.
