Remember when the Destiny 2 bug took light of the day, and Bungie told you to “have fun with it”? Well, the fun will be over soon as they return with a fix.
They plan to solve the problem with separate solutions, first to build a server-side update that will render all the crafted weapons unable to be equipped. Now, you may craft more weapons with the bug, but since you cannot equip it and dominate the battleground, will it be worth the effort?
The second phase of the solution will be to fix the equipping process of the weapons that will be rendered useless in the last fix. The developers say that the players will start using their already crafted weapons, but all the “illegal” components added to the weaponry will be reset. This means that the gun will go into its default state, and you would have to upgrade it the way the game intended.
This was the plan to rectify the error until now, but Bungie released a new statement stating some slight changes to the plan. They mention that the first phase will go effective shortly but will not disable equipping the weapon. It will only disable the Exotic and Legendary frames and perks on crafted weapons, including Osteo Striga, Revision Zero, Dead Man’s Tale, Dead Messenger, Vexcalibur, and all three Exotic class glaives. Bungie also mentioned that this fix will not affect uncrated weaponry, and players can build more legitimate weapons like the usual.
Bungie’s statement about their fix also updates us about the second fix, where they will replace the illegal components on the already crafted weapons. In their tweet, they mentioned, “We’re currently building a second fix,” which means the fun with the powerful weapons might be over soon. If you still want to showcase your deadly weapon, now is the time.
