Julian Gerighty, the creative directed at Ubisoft Malmo, posted a tweet that might be hinting toward news related to the upcoming Star Wars game. He mentioned: “Happy New Year to all; 2023 will be huge for us”, and he also posted a Star Wars Image.
Originally announced in January 2021, was said to be an open-world game. The game’s development is led by Massive Entertainment, known mostly for their work in critically and commercially acclaimed franchises such as The Division.
When the game was originally announced, Doug Reilly talked about the motivation of the team developing the game and how they wanted players to experience the new Star Wars game. Since then, there has been no information regarding the game, and it’s been two years.
Fans have been waiting for news regarding the game, and now after the recent tweet by Julian Gerighty, it’s very likely that Ubisoft will soon reveal some news in the upcoming months. However, there might be a reason for no news about Star Wars, as Julian said:
“This is a lore that we love, and we want to do it justice with a game and story that bring both lifelong and new fans on an immersive and outstanding journey that will stay with them for years.”

This clearly means they want to ensure it’s a perfect game for the fans of the long-running franchise. In December 2021, Ubisoft was looking for some playtesters for its new Star Wars game, indicating its development is progressing steadily. However, there is no information about the game’s release date or when the news from Ubisoft will be available online. Still, major news is expected to be released sometime in 2023. The Star Wars game will use the Snowdrop Engine, just like The Division games.
