Starbreeze Studios released its financial Q1 2023 Earnings Report today. In the report, the company CEO Tobias Sjogren discussed the road ahead for the company while going over the development and marketing strategies and also touched on the upcoming release of Payday 3.
Payday 3 was first revealed in January with a scheduled release of 2023, so it was no secret that the game would launch later this year. However, Tobias has now announced that the marketing campaign for the long-awaited title will begin this summer, suggesting that Payday 3 will launch somewhere at the end of 2023.
Tobias seemed excited about the release and remarked that this year would be all about the Payday launch. He said:
I, like all of Starbreeze, look forward to showing off what we’ve spent the last few years doing.

Aside from the report, the developers have also launched a teaser trailer that reveals Payday 3 will receive a gameplay trailer in the summer. That, too, makes sense because the gameplay trailer will help push start the marketing campaign.
The financial report also revealed that the game has roughly 1 million wishlists on Steam without any sort of marketing. So, the number will most definitely go up with the marketing campaign kick-off. These numbers suggest that Payday 3 would be a massive release by all accounts; let’s hope that the game delivers on the expectations of the highly anticipated fans.
