Evil Mojo has released the next patch for their free-to-play first-person shooter, Paladins. Patch 2.61 is live and brings some much-needed fixes to the game.
Paladins: Champions of the Realm is a free online hero shooter from Hi-Rez. The game was developed by Evil Mojo, an in-house Hi-Rez studio, and was released in 2018. It may not be as popular as other free-to-play titles, such as Warframe, which recently released its Lua Prey expansion, but it’s still made a name for itself. The game has been compared to Overwatch and often criticized for this, although Hi-Rez COO Todd Harris denied this, stating that the main inspiration came from Team Fortress 2. Evil Mojo continues to support the game and has released various updates and expansions over the years, which has led to the game maintaining a strong fanbase.
The last update for the game was patch 2.60, released two days ago and brought the Dawnforge expansion to the game. One of the notable additions was the Event Pass: Chaos Rising, that brought with it 24 exciting rewards. After purchasing the pass, players immediately get access to Pyre’s most loyal soldier, Eternal Emissary Tyra. At the same time, players get brand new skin for Raum when they purchase the pass, called the Harlequin skin. The update also brought with it a Dawnforge Only Limited-Time Mode that will allow everyone to enjoy the new map at will.
Unfortunately, as with updates of this scale, we also got a host of new bugs in the game. The first issue that players reported was that Fernando’s Scorch Talent doesn’t have a proper cooldown, frustrating many. Similarly, the Draconian Huntress Ash Bounty Store skin wasn’t displaying the appropriate name, and Rejuvenate was not granting the correct amount of bonus healing. The Golden Yagorath also had a significant bug, as players could not equip the weapon.
Players also reported a severe crashing issue that impacted players on the PlayStation 4, and patch 2.61 seems to resolve this issue. It’s unclear when the other issues will get patched, but Evil Mojo appears to be working on the next patch.
