Gaming companies have recently begun to host their own live dedicated fan events to connect with the gaming community in a more personal space where they can run things on their terms, with several such events taking place all over the world now. Despite hosting live events in Japan, Nintendo of America did not jump into this trend. Instead, they held out on E3, but now that it has been canceled, they have announced their live event, the first of its kind in America. It appears that the cancellation of E3 was the only push they needed.
Nintendo has announced a live event titled Nintendo Live 2023, which will take place in Seattle, Washington, in September. The announcement was made through the official Twitter account of Nintendo.
The announcement reveals that the in-person event will be jam-packed with loads of exciting stuff, including Switch gameplay, live performances, various tournaments, themed activities, and much more. However, that is all the announcement reveals, and it is certainly lacking in crucial details such as actual dates, ticket prices, and a breakdown of the games and events.
Nintendo’s official website reveals that the event is intended for families and fans alike and is expected to be an exhilarating experience for people of all ages. Furthermore, it reveals that the attendees can participate in a wide range of activities, including Nintendo-themed activities across a large-scale themed area.
Doug Bowser, the president of Nintendo of America, while chatting about Nintendo Live 2023, stated that.
Fans of all ages can currently experience the unique games, characters and worlds of Nintendo on Nintendo Switch, but we want to expand that scope with a new experience. With Nintendo Live 2023, we’re giving attendees a chance to celebrate together with family, friends and the broader Nintendo community in the spirit of fun and creating long-lasting memories.
Doug Bowser
To conclude, while details about the event have yet to be revealed, given the success of Nintendo Live in Japan, Nintendo Live 2023 will be nothing short of a success in the United States as well.
