Triternion has confirmed that the critically acclaimed medieval multiplayer game Mordhau will be coming to consoles. The official teaser gives a few glimpses into the carnage of battles and announces a release date for the console version of the game.
Mordhau was partially funded by a campaign on Kickstarter that raised nearly $300,000 in 2017. The game was later launched for PC via Steam in April 2019 and has since carved its way into the hearts of many players as a medieval first-person, online co-op hack-and-slash fighter. This helped Mordhau sell over 500,000 copies in less than a month, topping the Steam sales charts at its launch.
The game has a medieval theme and includes combat like jousting, siege engines, and duels, in addition to historical techniques like feints and distinct weapon types. Furthermore, Mordhau excels in hand-to-hand combat, which is in keeping with its medieval setting.
Mordhau has fast-paced combat and numerous of customization options that allow players to wreak havoc on the battlefield. Moreover, the game has several modes, including Frontline, Invasion, and a Battle Royale mode. No matter which mode you pick, the game is jam-packed with absolute carnage.
The Frontline Mode pits 48 players divided into two teams against each other to compete for points by dueling, whereas Invasion Mode pits two teams of 48 players against each other to either attack or defend key objectives. Lastly, Mordhau has a Battle Royale mode in which a total of 64 players compete against each other.
Mordhau will be available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on July 12, 2023. The console versions were first announced in August 2022, so they’ve been in the works for a while; therefore, players can expect to get a polished port and the game to perform just as well on consoles as it did on PC.
