Quinton replied to a fan asking about the upcoming Metal Gear title, confirming the rumors about the game to be true. Since the game’s creator Hideo Kojima left Konami in 2015, the Metal Gear series was forgotten about completely.
The Rumors about this have been circulating around for some time. According to these rumors, the announcement was to be official somewhere before May 2023 because of Metal Gear Rising’s 10th Anniversary.
