Variety has named Jim Ryan, the CEO of PlayStation, as one of the top 500 most influential global media business leaders. He is now Considered one of those who shape the global media industry.

Jim Ryan has been facing a little bit of criticism from PC gamers as they want to play PlayStation exclusives like Bloodborne on PC. There have been petitions going on to remove him as CEO of PlayStation, which is hilarious. Despite that, Jim Ryan managed to be one of the most influential global media leaders. He is undoubtedly one of the best leaders out there, and he deserved this achievement. Variety said that:

“The company has continued to make strategic investments, acquiring 14 percent of FromSoftware and injecting $1 billion into Epic Games, and has also objected to the Activision Blizzard deal, which the FTC is now attempting to block. PS5 is still outselling Xbox Series X|S nearly two to one, but Xbox’s domain over subscriptions prompted Sony to overhaul PS Plus in June, offering a greater library of titles to gamers.”

Jim Ryan has made the company’s best decisions, and variety acknowledges them. The company also objected to the Activision Blizzard deal as many gamers are also against this deal due to the fear of monopoly. Microsoft and FTC are now in court as FTC won’t approve the deal, which Jim Ryan might have known.

Moreover, Ryan has led the PS productions division, which handled the release of the Uncharted movie, and now The Last of Us adaptation will launch later this month. Hermen Hulst is also featured on the list, as Variety has recognized him for Sony’s slate of award-winning exclusives in 2022, which includes God of War Ragnarok and Horizon Forbidden West. Ryan and Hulst will continue to work for the better of PlayStation, and fans will certainly see some fantastic projects from them.
