Since the game launched last year, one key feature has been missing, but it looks like the Halo Infinite Winter update will give fans what they have been craving for so long. The game has been criticized for having slow updates, and the updates themselves have been labeled disappointing. But it looks like the Winter update finally has the power to make fans happy.
The brand-new Winter update is set to launch in early November. The upcoming update will finally add online Campaign co-op to the game along with the Forge open beta, new multiplayer maps, and the ability to finally gain XP through matches instead of completing challenges.
Halo Infinite’s online Campaign Co-Op will allow players and three of their friends to experience the entirety of Master Chief’s adventure in the single-player campaign together. Players can explore every area on the map together, such as the Silent Auditorium and the Zeta Halo. The campaign will also add Mission Replay, which allows players to replay completed missions if they wish to; it also gives players 24 more achievements to unlock.
The other addition in the Winter Update is the Forge Beta. The Forge will give players thousands of new objects and multiple other additions. If you don’t know, Forge is Halo’s map editor, which gives players various tools to create their custom maps.
The update features a new match XP system along with two new maps. The new XP system will reward players for playing matches and bonuses for winning games, allowing players to move through the battle pass faster. The new maps are Argyle and Detachment; Argyle is built around a large central yard, and Detachment is the first Halo Infinite map with a teleporter.
The Halo Infinite Winter Update will launch on November 8th for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
