Developer Modus Studios Brazil and publisher Modus Games have announced that God of Rock, the studio’s upcoming fighting and rhythm game hybrid, will launch for all platforms in April next year. The game was planned to release during Winter 2022, although it’s been delayed for a further round of polishing.

God of Rock is coming to @PlayStation 4 and 5 on April 18, 2023!

God of Rock focuses on 1v1 games that combine rhythm-based games with combat mechanics in one fun game. Players can choose from dozens of unique fighters with unique designs, mechanics, and special attacks.

The story centers around the mysterious God of Rock, who has revived the souls of some of the greatest musicians in the universe. He gives each musician a brand-new body and unique powers and pits them against each other for his entertainment. Each musician has become a contestant in his game, as they all battle against each other using their musical talent.

Players can use their basic moves to damage opponents by hitting notes timed to the song’s beat. After building up their meter to a specific amount, players can then use it to perform special moves and EX, which will also cause the musical track to become more complex. Players can also perform super attacks, which are devastating attacks that cause a lot of damage to the opponent. As the battle progresses, the musical track will become more complicated, thus making the game harder. This will continue until one side has lost, declaring the other party the winner.

The game will feature four playable modes at launch, the first being the Story Mode. The Story Mode will allow players to use their favorite fighters against fights with bots as they become the musical champion. On the other hand, Training Mode will enable players to smooth out some of the game areas where they might be having difficulty. There’s also a track editor, which lets people add or remove notes. Lastly, there’s online multiplayer, which can be local and online.

God of Rock will release for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch on April 28th, 2023.
