As was the case last year, Bethesda released a new update for Fallout 76 in time for the holidays. The new update adds a new event called The Holiday Scorched Earth and new content to the first-person shooter.
Released four years ago, Fallout 76 is an MMO first-person shooter that’s set in the Fallout universe. The game was initially panned at launch for having very little content and being littered with bugs, but thankfully that’s no longer the case. Bethesda has continued to support the game for the past four years, has ironed out many bugs, added a ton of new content, and held events, such as the recent Call to Axe-ion.
Holiday Scorched Earth is the game’s latest event and features mutant ghouls dressed in Santa Costumes. They have a ton of lot on their body, so it’s advised that players kill them as soon as possible. The Holiday scorched will spawn as legendary enemies, usually in the one to three-star range. They only seem to appear in open spaces, and the easiest way to know if they’re close is when you hear a jingling bell.
Every Holiday Scorched that is killed will drop a holiday gift. These holiday gifts come in three distinct variants, those being small, normal, or large. Each variant includes loot, which varies in rarity as some gifts can even feature drops, such as plans for C.A.M.P items. During this event, vendors will also be able to sell holiday wrapping paper to the player.
Players can use the holiday wrapping paper at a tinker’s bench, which will allow them to create their holiday gifts. Players can open these gifts for themselves, as there’s a chance they may contain rare loot. As it’s Christmas time, they can also give the present to other players as a gift.
