The rogue-lite shooter, Dust and Neon, has been announced to receive a Nintendo Switch version. While the game was originally going to be launched next year for PC via Steam only, developer David Marquardt Studios and publisher Rogue Games Inc have revealed that fans who own the Nintendo console will be able to enjoy the game as well.
Dust & Neon is a top-down twin-stick shooter inspired by the classics. The game uses an upgradeable looter-shooter weapon system and a rogue-lite progression that always brings new challenges for players to enjoy. The news of the game making its way to the Nintendo Switch was revealed during Nintendo’s final day of the House of Indies event, where it was revealed that the game was in the lineup.
The game is set in the futuristic Wild West. It follows an alternate timeline where robots reject their life of slavery and take over the planet, creating a nightmare for humans. Players are tasked with playing as the Gunslinger, a legendary shooter from the past who a mad scientist resurrected to fight the robot tyranny.
The gameplay features tight dual-stick shooting controls, an automatic cover, and a dynamic power-up system. If you take the time to learn the game’s mechanics, you’ll find it easier to get into the game’s action-packed levels and kill bots. The game also doesn’t stop you from managing your inventory, meaning the game remains uninterrupted.
As players progress in their quest to kill all the robots, they can also customize and upgrade their skills. As the game progresses, players can use their experience to acquire even more deadly weapons and upgrades for their home base. If you die during a level, the scientist who revived the Gunslinger is always ready to clone a new one, meaning you can come back in flames.
Dust and Neon will launch for PC and Nintendo Switch in 2023.
