The highly anticipated action RPG Diablo 4 by Blizzard Entertainment released an early access beta yesterday. The beta is available to players who pre-ordered from March 17th to March 19th.
The beta has been tough going for the developers because many players have complained about performance issues in addition to long queue times. High server loads plagued the beta, which is fairly typical for a beta of a highly anticipated game, and Diablo 4 is no exception.
The Diablo 4 beta queue times have been exceptionally long, and various reports of connectivity problems, with players reporting error codes, have also surfaced on the internet. Furthermore, some people have been kicked out for no reason, only to have to wait in line for hours to get back in, which pretty much ruins the fun!
Additionally, issues such as rubberbanding while transitioning between zones, and high RAM and GPU usage on various hardware, have been reported, and it does not appear to be good from any perspective.
The good news is that game developers are aware of the situation and are actively working to resolve the issues.
PezRadar, the community manager for Blizzard Entertainment forums, while talking regarding queues and server disconnects, said that:
The team is working through some issues behind the scenes that have been affecting players and causing them to be disconnected from the servers. For the time being, we are managing the rate of players entering the game until we have a full fix for the disconnection issues. This is done so we can ensure stability amongst players who get into the game after the queue process. If you are in queue, we ask that you stay in queue to ensure you do not reset your timer

A second beta for Diablo 4 is set to launch on March 24th and will run until March 26th. It will be an open beta, and the developers, having learned from the first experience, are confident that the second one will perform much better in terms of queue countdowns and performance.
PezRadar on the Blizzard Entertainment community forums shared that:
We plan to have more accurate queue countdowns in place for Open Beta next weekend as noted in our Known Issues post.
