Torn Banner Studios’ first-person multiplayer slasher Chivalry 2 is free to play on Steam this weekend. Players can pick up the game and add it to their library.
Inspired by epic medieval movie battles, players will try their best to dominate large battlefields for 64 players. In the Team Objective maps, players can also use catapults to lay siege to castles, set fire to villages, and bring death to peasants.
The game features a fully mounted combat system where your horse companion can stomp on your enemies, kick with your front or back mounts, take your opponent down with spears, and melee with grounded or mounted opponents.
A new subclass system is included to provide more variety, with four core classes expanding to over ten subclasses. There are over 30 unique weapons with many visual variations and support items, from oil pots to barricades, supply crates, and archer stakes. It also supports crossplay for all platforms.
If you like what you’re playing, the game and special content are 50% off until December 22nd. And if you buy it, the progression from the free weekend will carry over. Plus, the Chivmas holiday event runs until January 5th, with holiday-themed maps and plenty of holiday battles.
