The Wild Gentlemen and Joystick Ventures have announced that the critically acclaimed and cluckin’ eggcellent narrative noir adventure Chicken Police: Paint It Red! will be followed by a much-anticipated sequel, Chicken Police: Into the Hive.
Chicken Police: Paint It Red!, despite its decidedly dark narrative, presents an intriguing world that deserves to be explored further, and the sequel Chicken Police: Into the Hive! will do just that with the return of the anthropomorphic rooster cop duo Sonny Featherland and Marty MacChicken.
In Chicken Police: Into the Hive, the anthropomorphic rooster cop duo will be drawn into yet another mystery of love, loss, friendship, and conspiracies, which will drag them into the Hive to confront the darkest moments of their past. The official trailer by The Wild Gentlemen gives a sneak peek of what’s in store for the sequel.
The trailer maintains the grim story, gritty atmosphere, and absurd humor of the Chicken Police franchise, but it lacks specifics, particularly about the Hive. However, the prequel explains The Hive as a location where the city of Clawville dumps its unwanted, making it essentially an underworld slum for insects.
The Chicken Police: Into the Hive will delve deeper into the Hive to uncover a cold-blooded murder and unrest on the streets of Clawville. In order to uncover the truth, the players will visit over 35 different locations to find clues, speak with suspects, and solve problems. Furthermore, the game includes 30 fully dubbed characters, a main quest, and a number of side quests to keep things interesting.
The game will be released next year, but no specific date has been announced. Furthermore, it was only announced for PC via Steam, but given the success of the prequel on consoles, a console version of Chicken Police: Into the Hive! might be announced in the future.
